Mafojani Safaris sees and appreciates nature with all its fauna and flora for the majestic creation that it is.
We strive to conserve and to put back into nature as much as we take out to make sure there will always be a healthy balance so that future generations may also experience what we are privileged enough to experience now.
Mafojani Safaris is located 65 km South West of the Border Town of Musina in the heart of the Mopane Bushveld, which is situated in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The Company is based on one of our concessions in this area, where as most of the Hunting takes place in the Limpopo province.
We host Safaris in the Freestate, Eastern Cape, as well as Mozambique.
The Mafojani Safaris team will go out of their way to make sure that YOUR every need is satisfied during the Safari.
Phillip Bere
Phillip was born in Chiredzi Zimbabwe, but spent most of his childhood in the Peterstore area, which is situated in Gokwe North. This area suffered from problem animals and the notorious tsetse fly.
Phillip's early childhood involvement with different Safari operators around the campfire, brewed and matured the passion and respect he has for nature.
Phillip finished his A-Level in 2006, and then joined the Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy in 2008. "Working with Rhinos and communities got me the opportunities to further get involved with Safari operators."
Phillip also had the privilege to get involved in Problem Animal Control, which landed him in National Parks. It was here where he did his learners Licence, hunting with different safari operators in Mtetsi, Makuti, Chirisa and the Zambezi Valley.
He finished his course in 2012 and migrated to South Africa where he continues to hunt in the Limpopo Province.

We received the gift of a hunting safari to South Africa.
We were a bit nervous about traveling to a place we had never been and where we knew no one. I wish I had known how accommodating an experience it would be and I would never have been nervous.
We were warmly greeted at the airport and quickly transported to the Mafojani Lodge. I soon discovered that I had over packed. I had brought with me enough clothes to last seven days, snacks, toiletries, and entertainment and I used almost none of it. Laundry was done for me every day, my chalet was kept impeccably clean, we were constantly served delicious food and drinks, and the only entertainment we needed was the good company.
The Professional Hunters and the staff were genuine and sincere people that I will think of as dear friends for the rest of my life.
The hunting was amazing. South Africa: Mafojani Hunting Safaris has some of the most beautiful species of animals in the world. I look at my trophies every day and am reminded of the indelible memories I made with my friends at Mafojani Lodge.
Our hunting experience was one of the best experiences that we have had in my life. Our Professional Hunters Pieter and Chris were amazing people with great hunting and tracking experience that were a joy to be around.
On our hunt with their help we were able to get a Zebra , Red Hartebeest, Gemsbok, Blue wildebeest, Warthog and an 2 Impala. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to go to South Africa for a hunt that will be one of the best times of your life.

Memorable visit to Mafojani Hunting Safaris
We arrived by air in three Gyrocopters at the immaculate Mafojani landing strip late afternoon and we were met by the manager Pieter Bornman and a number of his staff.
They were patiently waiting for us to arrive and each staff member personally greeted us and introduced themselves and assisted in unloading the gyros. Welcome beverages were provided and enjoyed on the short drive to the main lodge.
The lodge is absolutely beautiful, clean and well-appointed and has an amazing elevated view which offers the most incredible sunsets whilst sipping on any beverage of your choice with pre dinner snacks.
A dip pool and swimming pool are available to those who want to cool off.
The staff are all polite and smartly dressed and more than willing to assist with any request. The meals were top notch and the snacks provided throughout the day ensured that we were never hungry.
The separate chalets are all well-presented and provide excellent accommodation each with their own shower or bath and toilet and of course lovely view.
Again, Pieter was a superb host and an asset to Mafojani Lodge and nothing was too much trouble and ensured that all our culinary and game drive needs were met and exceeded.
The highlight of our stay was the evening braai (barbeque for overseas visitors) in the dry river bed. The staff set up chairs, tables, drinks and prepared superb food on the open fire. We enjoyed hours of good food, company and good wine into the night.
As far as value for money is concerned, I would rate this Lodge as excellent value.
Would I recommend Mafojani Lodge? Without a doubt – one of the best we have visited over the many years of touring in South Africa!
I look forward to our next visit to the Lodge in the near future…. The sooner the better!

As you know we had a great time at Mafojani Safaris. Here is a quick report of our trip.
From the moment we entered the front gates of Mafojani Safaris, I knew we were in for the trip of a lifetime. Peter and his staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout out week-long stay. I got all the animals (and more) on my list, and the entire ranch was beautiful, verdant and exceeded my expectations
and dreams of South Africa.
I arrived with two sons, but left with three, as Pieter quickly became a trusted PH, guide, confidant and host. I would highly recommend Mafojani Safaris to anyone interested in a South African safari, and am happy to answer any questions.
